Getting to MTU
By Bus
Bus Éireann provides regular services to and from the Bishopstown Campus:
- No.205 bus runs between the City Centre/Kent Train Station and MTU.
- No.208 runs from Mayfield to Bishopstown via the City Centre, stopping at the top of Rossa Avenue, a few minutes walk from MTU.
- No.220 runs from Ballincollig to Crosshaven/Carrigaline via the City Centre, stopping near the junction of Model Farm Road and Melbourn Road, a few minutes walk from MTU.
- No.201 is the north side orbital route and the No.219 is the south side orbital route, which both stop outside MTU.

By Train
Cork is served by Iarnrod Eireann’s Kent Station, where the No 205 bus can be boarded. Kent Station is about 10 minutes walk to Patrick Street and Cork Bus Station. There is also a taxi rank at the station.
By Taxi
There is a full taxi service operating from the city centre. The taxi rank is located in the centre of Patrick Street. The fare to the MTU is approximately €15-€20, depending on traffic. There are also several hackney companies located near the city centre.
By Bike
You can cycle from the city centre to campus in about 20 mins. There is a lovely cycle route that brings you along the river Lee and greenway which bypasses a lot of traffic and is a much more enjoyable cycle. There is also a TFI Bike station in MTU, outside the Melbourne Building, which provides access to low-cost rentals. If you need more information about cycling to MTU contact denise.heffernan@mtu.ie.
By Car
The main campus is located in Bishopstown on the west of Cork city. It has easy access via the N40 South Ring Road and N22 Cork-Ballincollig-Macroom-Killarney-Tralee road. Latitude: 51.885884

Parking on Campus
There is very limited parking on campus, we have managed to reserve 15 spaces for those who need to drive. Please email denise.heffernan@mtu.ie if you plan on driving and would like to avail of those spaces, we would prefer to reserve these spots for those who have accessibility needs and then on a first-come-first serve basis.
Park and Ride
We have a great park-and-ride facilitiy that is located that the Curaheen Greyhound Track (eircode: T12 HNP4) and we strongly encourage participants who are driving to avail of that free service. You can park in the main car park, there are signs highlighting the MTU parking. The services operates from 8am to 6:15pm. Operating every 15mins from 8am – 10am, and 4pm-6:15pm, and every half an hour outside of those hours.
